In this copper keyring making workshop you and your child will produce a unique copper keyring each. Under guidance of silversmith Kate Hunter-Parker, you will learn the traditional silversmithing processes including cutting your metal, filing, annealing, adding stamps and texture. You will finish your piece by polishing and adding a keyring hoop, you can even add a few embellishments to make your piece truly unique.

All materials and tools are provided. There will be lots of different copper shapes and a range of brass, and aluminum shapes to enhance your design

Who is the course for?

This is a 2 hour course suitable for all learners but some dexterity would be a benefit. Children should be between 9-16 and each child will receive the support they need to achieve their project. The tutor is experienced with working with children.

What does the course cover

During the class you will pick a copper blank from a wide range of shapes, you will then work with the tutor to create your own designs. Once you have cut your shape you will file and sand it.. You can add letters and numbers and there is a range of picture stamps. You could also add a texture to your metal. There will be a range of smaller copper, brass and aluminum shapes you may also like to add to your design. Once everything is cleaned up we will add a hole and key chain to your unique piece. This piece is a lovely keepsake for years to come!

What is included in the fee?

The fee is for one child and Adult and includes tuition, the use of tools and equipment and all the material

Cancellation and Attendance Policy;

In the event of a class being cancelled by the Host, the option of a full refund will be issued or the student may request a date transfer if available.
Cancellations by the student over 28 days of the class date – we will offer a full refund or date transfer if available at the discretion of the student.

If we are able to re-sell your place a refund will be given at all times and every effort will be made to re-sell at all times.
Non-attendance – if you do not attend on the day of your class you will not be eligible for a refund or class transfer.
