Who is this course for?
In this ring making workshop you and your child will produce a sterling silver ring each. Under guidance of silversmith Kate Hunter-Parker, you will learn the traditional silversmithing processes from measuring and cutting your silver, to annealing, forming, soldering and texturing, you will then clean up and polish your unique design.
All materials and tools are provided. There will be two sterling silver options available.
If you did want a different shape or weight of silver there will be some available to purchase at an additional cost.
This is a 2.5 hour course suitable for all learners but some dexterity would be a benefit. Children should be between 9-16 and each child will receive the support they need to achieve their project. The tutor is experienced with working with children.
What does the course cover?
During the class you will learn how to create a sterling silver ring each. You will both learn to measure and cut silver, how to anneal and form a ring. You will then solder the ring and add a texture if you wish and then clean up and polish your unique design.
What is included in the fee?
The fee is for a child and Adult and includes tuition, the use of tools and equipment and all the material (if you want a different shape or weight of silver there will be some available, there will be a small additional charge)
