Pewter Embossing Journal Workshop

In this pewter embossing workshop you will produce your own unique metal artwork which will be added to the front of a sketchbook or notebook of your choice.

Under guidance of silversmith Kate Hunter-Parker, you will learn a range of skills that will allow you to become confident at embossing pewter sheet. To complete this project you will learn about the properties of the metal, the suitable tools, how to create a design and how to bring your design to life.  

This workshop is a great introduction to embossing metal and you will learn lots of new skills, use a range of tools and understand how fun and versatile this metal is.

All the materials and tools are supplied.

Who is this course for?

This is a 3 hour course suitable for all learners but some dexterity would be a benefit.  You can draw your own design or you can use one of the stencils provided.

What does the course cover?

This course explores the properties of this interesting metal, the different techniques and tools that can be used. You will create your own unique design or use one of the designs provide, transfer it to the metal, line the work out and then start to create a 3d design. You will learn how to strengthen your work so you can pick a finish you would like to use from the different examples. Once your design is complete you will mount it onto your chosen notepad or sketchpad.

What is included in the fee?

The fee includes tuition, the use of tools and equipment and all the materials to make a notepad or sketch pad with a pewter panel

There is a maximum of 8 students per class to ensure individual attention.

 What do I need to bring?

• Please wear sturdy and fully enclosed footwear (no open toes or gaping sides) and old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty or damaged.
• Please ensure long hair is tied back. 
• All drink containers/bottles must have lids.
• No food can be consumed within the classroom.

 All our classes are for age 18 and over, unless otherwise specified.

Cancellation and Attendance Policy;

• In the event of a class being cancelled by the Host, the option of a full refund will be issued or the student may request a date transfer if available.
• Cancellations by the student over 28 days of the class date – we will offer a full refund or date transfer if available at the discretion of the student.
• Cancellations by the student within 28 days of the class date – we are unable to offer a refund or date change.  Please see following information:
• If we are able to re-sell your place a refund will be given at all times and every effort will be made to re-sell at all times.
• Non-attendance – if you do not attend on the day of your class you will not be eligible for a refund or class transfer.
